The Dallas Cowboys announced Tuesday they have fired defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus following ongoing defensive struggles throughout the season.
Dallas defensive unit ranked last in the NFL in points allowed per game (30.1) and passing yards allowed (251.5), while finishing 30th in total yards allowed.
The defense surrendered 511 total points, marking franchise-worst figures in multiple categories and prompting the Cowboys organization to make a change moving forward.
