2–3 minutes

My Love and Whiskey Book Tour Review: Dallas Edition

Attending a book tour is always an exciting experience and the ” Love and Whiskey Unfiltered” tour certainly lived up to its promise. This was more than just a book tour, it was an intimate night with Fawn Weaver and Victoria Eady Butler.

Which was centered around the latest release by the bestselling author, which took readers on a whirlwind journey through both the author’s creative process and the deep meaningful history of Uncle Nearest, the first known Black Master Distiller and the original master distiller for the Jack Daniel’s whiskey brand explored in the book.

The event kicked off with an upbeat entrance by Fawn clown walking down the aisle to the stage.

After that Fawn and Victoria the Uncle Nearest Master distiller and the great great granddaughter of Nearest Green sat down and greeted all of us that were in attendance. They shared personal anecdotes about how the company came to life and the challenges they faced along the way while building the powerhouse Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey brand.

It was refreshing to hear such candid insights, while giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the day to day whiskey distilling process.

Their authenticity created an immediate connection with the audience, making us feel like we were part of the story rather than just observers.

One of the highlights of the Love and Whiskey tour was the interactive Q&A session, where attendees had the chance to ask questions about the Love and Whiskey book and the personal influences that shaped each of their narrative.

Fawn’s thoughtful yet straight forward responses not only deepened our understanding of the book, but also gave us a new appreciation for the depth of their story and sacrifices.

After the Q&A session, there was an whiskey sampling that highlighted 4 of the Uncle Nearest premium spirits ranging from their single barrel to their master blend edition that was specially made for the Dallas book tour.

Of course, no book tour is complete without the signing event. The autographed book line was long, but the excitement was palpable.

Fawn and Victoria took time to engage with everyone by making sure to take a photo with each person as all shared a laugh, memory and encouging word of pride with them.

It truly felt like a celebration of the community of readers and apprecation of storytelling and lovers of whiskey, the energy in the room was infectious.

Overall, the “Love and Whiskey” book tour was an unforgettable experience. It gave readers an opportunity to connect not just with the author and the master distiller but with history.

Whether you’ve read the novel or not, attending a book tour like this makes you feel like part of something special — a moment where literature and the community come together in celebration during Black History Month.
