Equalizer BP Perfecto Review

—

2–3 minutes

There’s something about a cool overcast Texas afternoon that just calls for fire. The kind of slow, low-pressure day where the clouds hang heavy and the air sits still and sweet.

I stepped out onto my patio, slid open the humidor, and my hand landed right where it needed to the Definition Cigars Equalizer BP Perfecto.

Something told me today was the day.

Right out of the gate, the construction speaks for itself. The Ecuadorian Maduro wrapper is gorgeous — a deep, oily espresso-brown that practically glows in the grey afternoon light.

The perfecto shape is tapered and purposeful, rolling to a gentle point at each end.

It’s the kind of cigar that commands attention before you even strike a match. Pre-light, the cold draw opens up a rich sweetness think dark baker’s chocolate and a whisper of dried fig.

You know immediately this is going somewhere good.

“A full-bodied cigar that’s perfect in more ways than the shape….the Equalizer earns its name from the very first draw.”

The first third ignites with authority. The Nicaraguan filler and binder announce themselves in full voice a rich, earthy, and boldly spiced, with cedar threading through a base of dark cocoa.

The smoke is dense and creamy, producing a thick, white ash that held firm well past the inch mark.

For a $12 cigar, this construction is punching well above its weight class.

First Third- Dark cocoa & cedar spice

Mid Section- Leather, espresso & pepper

Final Third- Sweetness, earth & lingering warmth

As it eased into the second third, the spice settled into a warm leather and espresso groove with a slow, creeping black pepper on the retrohale that kept every puff interesting.

This is where the Equalizer truly found its stride complex without being complicated. The maduro wrapper began imparting a subtle sweetness that balanced the full-bodied Nicaraguan core beautifully. The draw remained effortless throughout, never tight, never sloppy.

The final third brought everything home with a slightly sweeter, earthier finish the pepper mellowed, replaced by a warm, almost syrupy cocoa note that lingered long after the smoke left the air.

Sitting there on the patio, watching the grey Texas sky do its thing, I honestly didn’t want it to end.

Here’s the thing about Definition Cigars, I haven’t had a bad one yet. Not one. That’s a reputation that’s hard to build and easy to lose, and they’ve protected it well with the Equalizer.

At $12.10, this Perfecto delivers a smoking experience that rivals sticks twice the price. Full-bodied, beautifully crafted, and complex enough to hold your attention through every inch of that tapered shape.

The Verdict

If the Definition Cigars Equalizer BP Perfecto isn’t already in your humidor, fix that immediately. Whether you’re a seasoned full-body smoker or working your way up the ladder, this is a cigar that rewards the moment.

Grab one the next time you see it — you won’t be disappointed.
