Cowboys practice squad player Jerry Brown killed; Josh Brent charged with intoxication manslaughter

As news continues to come in about the intoxication manslaughter arrest of Cowboys nose tackle Josh Price-Brent.  The Irving police department have confirmed that Dallas Cowboys linebacker Jerry Brown died in the early morning car crash, his teammate Cowboys nose tackle Josh Brent was charged with intoxication manslaughter in Brown’s death.

The accident happened at the 1400 block of the Northbound Service Road of of state highway 114 in Irving,Texas. Irving police department said that Brent’s vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when his car hit the curb and flipped.  Officers at the scene believed that alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash,  Brent was asked to do field sobriety tests, he failed. “Based on the results of the tests, along with the officer’s observations and conversations with Brent, he was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

Once it was learned that Brown had died as a result of the crash, Brent was arrested and booked into the Irving City Jail on one count of intoxication manslaughter.

In 2009 Brent served time in jail for a DUI.
