Yep Jerry has done it again???
The Dallas Cowboys have traded their star defensive end Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers in a shocking turn of events today. Reported by NFL.com and NFL insider Ian Rapoport on X.
Green Bay will send veteran defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first round draft picks to Dallas for Parsons.
Parsons has been the face of the Cowboys’ defense since being drafted in 2021. People who follow the NFL regarded Parsons as one of the best defenders in the league.
Parsons’ unique combination of speed and versatility allowed him to dominate in the pass rush and made him an All-Pro.
The Cowboys are making a critical change with the Parsons trade. This move could help improve the team in the future but it’s hard to replace a player like Parsons.
Could this be a Herschel Walker type of a trade? I doubt it because our front office’s lack of attention and core focus is an glaring issue and has been since Jerry and Jimmy parted ways.
For the Green Bay Packers this is a clear move indicating a win-now mentality. Inserting Parsons into an already young and talented defense could provide the Packers the boost they need to make a deep postseason run for years to come.
Reports indicated the team has already agreed on a four-year, $188 million contract with Parsons. With $120 million dollars guaranteed which would make him the highest paid non QB in NFL history.
