BREAKING:
Cowboys Sign CB Derion Kendrick to One-Year Deal pper agent Matt Leist of LAA, reported by Tom Pelissero.

The Dallas Cowboys are adding depth to their secondary.

Cornerback Derion Kendrick is signing with Dallas on a one-year deal, his agent Matt Leist of LAA confirmed, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Kendrick, a former sixth-round pick, has never needed the spotlight to earn his keep in this league.

Over his NFL career he has accumulated 18 career starts, a number that speaks to a player who has been trusted when called upon, regardless of where his name fell on draft night.

For Dallas, the move is a calculated, low-risk addition to a secondary that knows all too well how quickly depth gets tested over a 17-game season. The Cowboys get a corner with legitimate starting experience without breaking the bank heading into the new league year.

For Kendrick, suiting up under the star is as big a stage as the NFL offers. A strong season in Dallas could reset his market entirely and turn a one-year prove-it deal into exactly that proof.
